L'accesso al corso di laurea magistrale a ciclo unico in Medicina e chirurgia è subordinato al possesso di un diploma di scuola secondaria di secondo grado ovvero di un titolo di studio estero riconosciuto idoneo in conformità alla normativa vigente.
Le conoscenze iniziali necessarie sono quelle previste nei programmi delle scuole secondarie di secondo grado relative alle discipline di biologia, chimica, fisica e matematica, stabilite dalle Indicazioni nazionali per i Licei e dalle linee guida per gli Istituti Tecnici e per gli Istituti Professionali.
Le modalità di accesso al corso di laurea magistrale in Medicina e chirurgia ad esito di un semestre filtro, sono definite con apposito provvedimento dal Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca, nel rispetto della normativa vigente.

Ai sensi di quanto previsto dalla legge 14 marzo 2025, n. 26 e dal Decreto Legislativo del 15 maggio 2025, n. 71, per l'anno accademico 2025-2026, le modalità di ammissione al corso di Laurea Magistrale a ciclo unico in Medicina e chirurgia prevedono:
- l'iscrizione libera al primo semestre (semestre filtro) del corso di laurea magistrale a ciclo unico in medicina e chirurgia;
- l'iscrizione al semestre filtro consentita per un massimo di tre volte;
- l'iscrizione contemporanea e gratuita ad altro corso di laurea o di laurea magistrale, anche in soprannumero e in Università diverse, nelle aree biomedica, sanitaria e farmaceutica, corsi di studio che sono stati stabiliti dal Decreto del Ministro dell'Università e Ricerca n. 418 del 30 maggio 2025;
- la frequenza obbligatoria, nel semestre filtro, ai corsi delle discipline qualificanti individuate dal Decreto del Ministro dell'Università e Ricerca n. 418 del 30 maggio 2025, nei seguenti insegnamenti, a cui sono assegnati 6 crediti formativi (CFU) ciascuno: a) chimica e propedeutica biochimica; b) Fisica; c) Biologia, con programmi formativi uniformi e coordinati a livello nazionale, in modo da garantire l'armonizzazione dei piani di studio;
- l'ammissione al secondo semestre del corso di laurea magistrale a ciclo unico in medicina e chirurgia, subordinata al conseguimento di tutti i CFU stabiliti per gli esami di profitto del semestre filtro e alla collocazione in posizione utile nella graduatoria di merito nazionale, redatta dal Ministero sulla base del punteggio conseguito negli esami di profitto del semestre filtro, con modalità definite dal Decreto del Ministro dell'Università e Ricerca n. 418 del 30 maggio 2025;
- le prove d'esame relative agli insegnamenti di cui si compone il semestre filtro sono svolte a livello nazionale e con modalità di verifica uniformi, così come definite dal Decreto del Ministro dell'Università e Ricerca n. 418 del 30 maggio 2025; ciascuna prova d'esame consiste nella somministrazione di trentuno domande, di cui quindici a risposta multipla e sedici a risposta con modalità a completamento, secondo quanto previsto dall'allegato 2 del Decreto del Ministro dell'Università e Ricerca n. 418 del 30 maggio 2025;
- in caso di ammissione al secondo semestre, ciascuno studente sarà immatricolato in una delle sedi universitarie indicate, secondo l'ordine di preferenza espresso in sede di iscrizione, ovvero in un'altra sede, sulla base della ricognizione dei posti disponibili non assegnati. I criteri per la formazione della graduatoria di merito nazionale, fermo restando quanto previsto dall'articolo 39, comma 2, del decreto legislativo 25 luglio 1998, n. 286, e le modalità di assegnazione delle sedi universitarie sono quelle definite dal Decreto del Ministro dell'Università e Ricerca n. 418 del 30 maggio 2025.
