The ranking compiled by the National Taiwan University is based on bibliometric indicators (number of scientific papers, citations and impact indices) to identify the world’s top universities.
In the 2025 edition, the University of Pisa ranks 227th worldwide and 7th in Italy.
In addition to the global ranking, NTU also publishes a ranking by field (NTU by Field) and by subject (NTU by Subject). In NTU by Field, the University of Pisa ranks 182nd in Medicine, 183rd in Natural Sciences, and 287th in Life Sciences. It is placed 301–350 in Agriculture, 501–550 in Social Sciences and 551–600 in Engineering.
