The Master’s Degree Course in Euro-American Languages, Literatures and Philologies enables students to acquire a solid written and oral command of one or two European foreign languages (French, English, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, German, Polish). It also provides a historical and non-European perspective, enabling students to develop an in-depth knowledge of the relevant literature. The course of study develops philological and theoretical-comparative skills, providing theoretical tools and methodologies for the literary text and linguistic communication analysis. Special attention is also given to the teaching of foreign languages and the use of IT tools in the relevant contexts. The course is divided into two curricula: Critical-literary (one or two languages) and Theoretical-comparativeStudents will focus on: Foreign language and literatureItalian literaturePhilology, Linguistics, Language teachingHermeneutics and rhetoric, Theory of literaturePhilosophy, History, Art HistoryAcademic, scientific and argumentative writing workshops

Per accedere al corso è necessario aver conseguito una laurea quadriennale vecchio ordinamento ovvero una laurea triennale nel corso della quale siano state acquisite:
- adeguate conoscenze del sistema linguistico di due lingue europee e competenze strumentali a livello B2 del quadro di riferimento europeo;
- buona conoscenza delle letterature straniere relative alle lingue scelte, oltre al possesso degli strumenti fondamentali per l'indagine linguistica e filologica del testo;
- buona conoscenza della letteratura italiana e la padronanza della lingua italiana scritta e orale;
- conoscenza di base degli strumenti informatici negli ambiti di competenza.

Hanno pertanto accesso a questa laurea magistrale tutti i laureati, purché in possesso dei seguenti requisiti minimi:

9 CFU nel settore scientifico-disciplinare L-LIN/01
6 CFU in uno dei seguenti settori: L-FIL-LET/09 oppure L-FIL-LET/15 oppure L-LIN/21 (nella fattispecie: Filologia slava)
9 CFU in uno dei seguenti settori: L-FIL-LET/10 oppure L-FIL-LET/11
18 CFU in uno dei seguenti settori: L-LIN/04; L-LIN/06; L-LIN/07; L-LIN/09; L-LIN/11; L-LIN/12; L-LIN/14, L-LIN/21 (Lingua russa);
18 CFU in uno dei seguenti settori: L-LIN/03; L-LIN/05; L-LIN/08; L-LIN/10; L-LIN/13; L-LIN/21 (Letteratura russa)
TOTALE: 60 CFU.

L'adeguata preparazione dello studente è verificata attraverso un test che comprende una serie di domande volte ad accertare la comprensione del testo letterario, i riferimenti al contesto storico-culturale, alcuni fondamenti della metodologia di analisi e una verifica linguistica per ciascuna lingua straniera oggetto di studio.
