The degree course in Dentistry and Prosthodontics trains professionals who are able to perform dental procedures and identify treatment priorities, with the aim of reducing oral diseases. They must have a solid knowledge of the biomaterials used in dental practice and of the epidemiological aspects of their area in order to prevent and treat oral and dental diseases. The course of study enables students to develop organisational skills and to work as part of a team. It provides for the study of disciplines and diagnostic procedures that allow for an objective examination of the oral cavity, as well as conservative, restorative and root and tooth removal treatments. Academic disciplines include:
  • Dental histology and embryology
  • Microbiology and hygiene
  • Developmental anomalies of the face and oral cavity
  • Oral surgery and paediatric oral surgery
  • Pathological anatomy
  • Pharmacology
  • Implantology
  • Practical and career-oriented traineeships are foreseen.

Per essere ammessi al Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Odontoiatria e Protesi Dentaria (CLMOPD) occorre essere in possesso di Diploma di Scuola media secondaria superiore di durata quinquennale o di altro titolo conseguito all'estero, riconosciuto idoneo in base alla normativa vigente.
L'organizzazione didattica del CLMOPD prevede che gli Studenti ammessi al primo anno di corso possiedano una adeguata conoscenza della lingua italiana ed una preparazione iniziale, conseguita negli studi precedentemente svolti, che verta su conoscenze nei campi della logica, della cultura generale, della biologia, della chimica, della matematica e della fisica.
La verifica delle conoscenze iniziali dello studente si intende effettuata con il superamento del test di ammissione ai sensi della normativa vigente.

Il corso di laurea magistrale a ciclo unico in odontoiatria e protesi dentaria è a numero programmato in base all'art. 1 della L. 264/99.
Il test di ammissione, di contenuto identico in tutte le sedi di prova, è predisposto dal Ministero dell'università e della ricerca (MUR).
Le modalità e i contenuti della prova stessa sono definiti dal Ministero di anno in anno con apposito decreto dal quale deriva il conseguente bando.
Qualora lo/la studente conseguisse un punteggio inferiore al 25% del punteggio massimo conseguibile nelle domande dell'area di Biologia e di Chimica sono ad egli/ella attribuiti i seguenti obblighi formativi aggiuntivi (OFA):
* debito nell'area Biologica: introduzione della propedeuticità di sostenere l'esame di Biologia prima di qualunque altro esame del corso di studio;
* debito nell'area Chimica: introduzione della propedeuticità di sostenere l'esame di Chimica prima di qualunque altro esame del corso di studio.
Qualora allo/la studente siano assegnati entrambi i debiti formativi aggiuntivi, gli esami di biologia e chimica possono essere sostenuti dallo/la studente nella sequenza che ritiene più consona al suo livello di preparazione.
Gli obblighi formativi aggiuntivi, da assolvere entro il primo anno di corso, si intendono soddisfatti avendo frequentato apposite lezioni di tutoraggio concordate con i docenti delle materie interessate e avendo sostenuto con esito favorevole le prove in itinere e/o l'esame finale dell'insegnamento nel quale è compresa la materia oggetto di OFA.
Gli studenti che non abbiano soddisfatto gli OFA non possono essere ammessi a sostenere gli esami del secondo anno del corso di studio.

Enrolment

The Degree Program in Dentistry and dental prosthodontics has a limited access. In order to enrol, students must pass a selection.

The admission test is for Medicine and surgery and Dentistry and dental prosthodontics.

The call for the academic year 2024/2025 has been published.

PLEASE NOTE: to participate to one or both admission selections you have to register on the Universitaly portal (www.universitaly.it) from the 3rd of April 2024 until the 17th of April 2024, H. 15.00.

After the application on the Universitaly portal, it is necessary to register on the Alice portal and apply for the admission selection from the same portal. At the end of the procedure it is necessary to pay the admission fee available in the Fee section on the Alice portal.

Having acknowledged that at the date of issue of this notice, the relative ministerial decree for the planning of places for access to the single-cycle master’s degree courses in Medicine and Surgery and in Dentistry and Dental Prosthesis has not been adopted, the Provisional places determined by the University of Pisa with the express reservation of confirmation or modification of the same following the publication of the aforementioned Ministerial Decree.

The definitive determination of places will be communicated with a subsequent decree

Medicine and surgery (provisional places for the 1st year)

329* places for EU and equated non EU citizens

The number of places indicated includes the reserves of the Naval Academy and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna which are awaiting definition

4 places for non EU citizens residing abroad and applying for VISA (1 reserved to Marco Polo Project candidates)

There will be two section admission selections – tests will be in presence at the university:

  • tuesday 28th of may 2024
  • tuesday 30th of july 2024

Candidates can participate to one or both admission section selections.

Candidates can sign up to admission selection following this procedure:

1) register on the admission selection from the Universitaly portal (www.universitaly.it).  Candidates can register for one or both tests from the 3rd of april 2024 until the 17th of april 2024.

Preferences can be modified until the 17th of april 2024 H. 15.00.

Each candidate must take the admission test in the University nearest to the domicile/residence address. Here the details.

Non-Eu candidates applying for a visa must take the admission test in the University where they wish to enroll.

 

2) register in the University portal Alice and apply for the admission selection.

It is possible to apply for the first session selection from the 3rd of april 2024 until the 22nd of april 2024, H. 12.00 a.m.

It is possible to apply to the admission selection on the Alice portal only after the registration on the University portal.

On the Alice portal, application for the second session selection will start from the 29th of april 2024 until the 23rd july 2024 h. 12.00. Admission fee must be paid within the 23rd of July 2024.

 

3) pay the 60 euros admission fee within the 22nd of april 2024 h. 12.00 a.m. for the first session selection. The admission fee can be found in the “Fee section” on the Alice portal. 

Admission fee is 60 euros for each admission session.


At the end of the application, you can find the admission fee in the Fee section on the Alice portal.


For the first session selection, deadline to pay the admission fee is the 22nd of April 2024, h. 12.00 a.m.


Candidates that do not pay the admission fee, will not be allow to participate to the admission test.
The fee is not refoundable in any case.

The test is written and it is the same for each candidate.

The admission test is divided into n. 60 questions, which present 5 answer options, among which the candidate must identify only one, discarding the wrong, arbitrary or less probable conclusions.

The questions are divided as follows:

– four (4) questions on text Comprehension and knowledge acquired in studies;
– five (5) questions on logical reasoning and problems;
– twentythree (23) questions on Biology;
– fifteen (15) questions on Chemistry;
– thirteen (13) questions on Physics and Mathematics .

The questions of the admission test will be extracted from a specific database also containing the correct answer.

Th database with 7.000 questions will be available on this page: https://accessoprogrammato.mur.gov.it/2024/,
– 3500 questions will be available 20 days before the 28th of may 2024;
– 3500 questions will be available 20 days before the 30th of july 2024.

Questions will be evaluated as follows:

• 1,5 points for each correct answer;
• minus 0,4 (- 0,4) points for each wrong answer;
• 0 point for each non given answer.

The test lasts 100 minutes.

Previous years tests

From the 29th of July to the 2nd of  Septemebr 2024 h. 15.00, EU and equated non EU citizens can apply for inclusion in the national ranking on the Cineca website. When applying for inclusion in the national ranking, candidates may indicate their preferences relating to the universities of enrolment.

Only students who have obtained a high school diploma or who will achieve it by 31/12/2024 can apply for inclusion in the national ranking.

The ranking will be published on the 10th of September 2024 on the Cineca website for EU and equated non EU citizens.

The ranking will be published on the Matricolandosi portal for non EU citizens applying for a Visa.

Enrollment guide

After admission test, additional learning requirements (OFA) will be assigned to those successful candidates having obtained a score 25% lower than the maximum grade score for Biology and Chemistry areas and the OFA will be assigned as follows:
  • Biology area OFA: the Biology exam is a prerequisite for any other exams of the study program
  • Chemistry area OFA: the Chemistry exam is a prerequisite for any other exams of the study program
If both Biology and Chemistry OFA have been assigned, students can choose to attend the relevant exams according to their study level. The OFA shall be fulfilled within the first year and shall be considered fulfilled if the students attend all tutoring classes planned with the relevant subject teachers and pass the intermediate tests and the final test of the subjects requiring OFA fulfillment. This is mandatory in order to attend the exams of the second year.
