The degree course in Business Economics provides students with a cultural and professional background in managerial disciplines, aimed at understanding the activity of different business functions in companies of various sizes, operating in different economic sectors and fields.
 The course is divided into four curricula that, while maintaining a multidisciplinary approach, allow the development of specific professional profiles:
  • Administration and accounting
  • Finance, marketing and production
  • Self-employment
  • Management and control.
Alongside the specific topics of each curriculum, the programme includes the study of cross-cutting subjects such as internationalisation, sustainability and digitalisation, aimed at improving business competitiveness in national and international market contexts.
The Bachelor’s Degree grants admission to all Master’s Degree Courses offered by the Department of Economics and Management and to all the Master’s Degree Courses belonging to the LM-56 and LM-77 classes.

Il corso di economia aziendale consente l'iscrizione a tutti coloro che sono in possesso del diploma di scuola secondaria superiore. Sono, comunque, previste alcune conoscenze di base ritenute fondamentali per la proficua frequenza dei corsi di laurea attivati nel Dipartimento di Economia e Management. I prerequisiti di matematica riguardano i seguenti elementi: - numeri interi, razionali, reali, - equazioni e disequazioni di primo e secondo grado, - piano cartesiano, geometria analitica (equazione della retta). I prerequisiti linguistici sono relativi alla conoscenza basilare, in forma scritta e orale, di una lingua dell'Unione Europea diversa dall'italiano. Le modalità per la verifica del possesso dei requisiti d'accesso, comuni ai corsi di laurea del Dipartimento di Economia e Management, sono specificate nel regolamento didattico del corso di studi; in tale regolamento sono indicati anche gli eventuali obblighi formativi aggiuntivi previsti nel caso in cui la verifica non sia positiva.

Per essere ammessi al Corso di Laurea in Economia aziendale occorre essere in possesso di un diploma di scuola secondaria di secondo grado o di altro titolo di studio conseguito all'estero, riconosciuto idoneo, ed aver verificato il possesso di un'adeguata preparazione iniziale.

La verifica del possesso di un'adeguata preparazione iniziale è effettuata tramite il test TOLC-E, anche sostenuto nella modalità TOLC@Casa. Il sostenimento di tale test, a carattere autovalutativo, è obbligatorio. Se tale obbligo è disatteso non possono essere sostenuti esami del CdS, fatta eccezione dell'esame di lingua e del test di abilità informatiche.

Il test si considera superato qualora lo studente abbia ottenuto un punteggio maggiore o uguale ad una soglia minima stabilita dal Consiglio di Dipartimento.

Nel caso di non superamento del test è comunque possibile procedere all'immatricolazione con un Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo (OFA), il cui assolvimento potrà avvenire secondo le modalità descritte nelle apposite pagine web pubblicate nel sito del Dipartimento e nel sito del Corso di Laurea. Si fa presente che in caso di mancato assolvimento dell'OFA è possibile sostenere solo gli esami del primo anno di corso.

Per i cittadini residenti in un paese non appartenente all'Unione Europea è richiesta, inoltre, una certificazione attestante un livello di conoscenza della lingua italiana non inferiore al B2.

          Career opportunities

          Administration and Accounting Curriculum  
          This curriculum is focused on training administrative managers or consultants in public and private companies or in consulting firms.    
          Possible career opportunities:    
          • administrative officer  
          • accounting officer  
          • assistant auditor 
          The potential for job placement is particularly interesting precisely because of the possibility that this course offers to work at various levels in all classes of companies.  
          Finance, Marketing and Production Curriculum  
          This curriculum prepares for roles as a financial officer, financial manager, financial analyst/consultant in manufacturing companies, credit institutions, commercial enterprises and service companies as well as in high-tech companies.  
          Possible career opportunities:    
          • marketing officer  
          • corporate finance officer 
          • commercial and sales area officer 
          •  production area officer  
          The employment context is therefore particularly broad, allowing graduates to work in various areas within companies, whether private or public, or as external professionals.  
          Management and Control Curriculum  
          It prepares for the profession of auditor (internal or external), controller and financial analyst.  
          Possible career opportunities:    
          • organisational and strategic officer  
          • management control officer 
          • internal efficiency officer  
          The employment context is therefore particularly broad, allowing one to work in all functions related to the strategic and operational planning of companies.  
          Curriculum for Self-Employment  
          Access to the professional register of chartered accountants is granted following the successful completion of the state exam, as well as the opportunity to work in business contexts within administrative functions.  
          Possible career opportunities:    
          • chartered accountant  
          • statutory auditor   
          • tax expert   
          • labour/accountancy consultant  
          This curriculum is focused on training administrative managers or consultants in public and private companies or in consulting firms.    

          Enrolment

          The Degree Program in Business studies has an open access.

          In order to attend the course, students must take a non-selective evaluation test to verify the initial preparation level.

          How to enrol

          You can register from 24 July to 30 September 2025. After this period, a late payment fee will be applied.


          Enter your personal data on Alice portal.

          You will need to access using your SPID or Tax code.

          After registering, you'll need to choose a course. You can find the video tutorial at this LINK.

          You can choose:

          • Standard enrolment;
          • Degree program shortening (in the event of a university degree already obtained);
          • Relocation from another University.

          The procedure will request:

          • ID scanned copy
          • passport-sized photo (please check size)
          • High school diploma details (Secondary School Name, year, final mark).

          Students with a foreign qualification are required to upload:

          • Declaration of Value (DV) issued by the Italian Diplomatic Authorities in their home country, along with the official translation into Italian of the diploma, legalised (or with an "apostille") and validated, OR, the ENIC-NARIC certificate is accepted in Italian Language. These documents should attest at least 12 years of schooling and the relevant qualification should allow the access to higher education.

          For Degree Program shortening the obtained University degree will be required. For relocation from another University previous university career will be required from the other university.

          At the end of procedure please print and sign the FORIM to complete enrolment and upload it on the Alice portal in the Career section annexes.

          Students with special needs

          Students with handicap under art. 3 Italian Law no. 104/1992 or with a certified disability equal or above 66% are required to upload a medical certificate attesting their health condition for university tuition fees exemption (duty stamp is required anyway).

          Some special categories under art. 1.1.2 lett. d) e) and art.1.1.3 lett. c) of the Regulations on Tuition fees (such as Italian government scholarship holders, competition winners, detained subjects ) shall email to matricolandosi@unipi.it for a specific calculation of tuition fees.


          If you do not apply for a DSU scholarship
          If you do not apply for a DSU scholarship, which will be automatically recorded after you have selected your degree course (“Scelta del corso”), you must pay the first instalment of tuition fees.

          From 1 October, a late payment fee applies as follows:

          • EUR 50 from 1 October 2025 to 31 October 2025
          • EUR 100 from 1 November 2025 to 1 December 2025
          • EUR 150 from 2 December 2025 (up to 31 December 2025 for newly enrolled students)

          International students holding a foreign qualification and visa applicants may pay the first instalment and submit the required documentation by 31 December 2025 without incurring late fees.

          If you apply for a DSU scholarship
          If you apply for a DSU scholarship, your application will be automatically recorded and your enrolment will be confirmed as soon as you have selected your degree course. In this case, payment of the first instalment is deferred to the deadline for the second instalment. Students awarded a scholarship will not be required to pay any tuition fees; they will only need to pay the EUR 16 virtual stamp duty.


          Within three working days of payment (or of degree course selection if you have applied for a scholarship), the Student Office will check and validate the documents and photo submitted during the enrolment procedure. If the documentation provided is complete and correct, you will receive a welcome email confirming your enrolment. Otherwise, you will be contacted directly by email or phone.

          Students holding a foreign qualification, regardless of nationality, must upload the required documents, which will be validated by the International Office (wis@unipi.it).


          For Degree Program shortening the previous university career will be recognized after submitting to the Students Office the “qualifications recognition” form with the annexed self certification of all exams. Deadline December 31, 2025.

          For relocation from another University the Students Office will confirm you the acceptance of the discharge papers from the university of origin. Transfer deadline is December 31, 2025.
