The degree course in Agricultural Sciences provides basic knowledge for activities related to the field of agriculture, considering its production aspects, multifunctionality and interactions with ecosystems, markets and society.

The course is divided into two curricula. The first curriculum allows students to develop technical-scientific skills useful for continuing their studies in a Master’s degree course. The second curriculum develops technical-professional skills related to a specific sector.

The course of study for both curricula involves the acquisition of:
  • basic scientific knowledge
  • plant productions
  • livestock productions
  • phytopathological defence
  • agricultural engineering
  • economic, managerial and legal skills.
In addition to traditional lectures, there are hands-on laboratory activities with multimedia techniques and outdoor activities in the field, in companies, and in public or private organisations.  The Bachelor’s degree allows access to the professional licensing exam to become a Junior Agronomist and gives access to the Master’s degree courses in Sustainable Agricultural Systems, Urban Green Design, Biosafety and Food Quality, and Plant and Microbial Biotechnology of the University of Pisa.
