Current Academic Position
2023 present, Full Professor in Statistics, Dept. of Economics and Management, University of Pisa. Director of the Tuscan Interuniversity Research Centre Camilo Dagum on Advanced Statistics for the Equitable and Sustainable Development ASESD.
Research fields:
My research interests include survey sampling, model-assisted and design-based inference, robust regression, quantile and M-quantile regression, multilevel models, geographically weighted regression, spatial statistics, applications of small area models in poverty mapping, new technologies in survey methodology, Big Data.
As of 2024, Google Scholar reports over 3307 citations to my work with h index of 33 and i10-index of 68. Scopus reports 91 articles and h index equal to 24. I have given numerous invited talks in conferences and seminars. I have over 200 publications, 90 of which in Statistical Journal. In particular, my work in the last ten years has been published by Journal of Royal Statistical Society Series B, Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Royal Statistical Society Series A, Journal of Royal Statistical Society Series C, Annals of Applied Statistics, Statistics & Computing, International Statistical Review, Statistics in Medicine, Statistical Methods in Medical Research, TEST.
