Institutional collaborations

The University of Pisa works continuously with other institutions at local, national and international levels to support its institutional activities.
Some of these collaborations are governed by formal agreements.

International Collaborations

The University’s most significant international collaboration is undoubtedly Circle U., a European University Alliance that brings together eight other prestigious European universities.
The shared mission of Circle U. is to strengthen the links between teaching, research, innovation and society in order to address today’s and tomorrow’s major global challenges, focusing on four main themes: Democracy, Global Health, Climate and Artificial Intelligence.

However, Circle U. is not the only active collaboration. The University of Pisa has signed cooperation agreements with universities and research institutions worldwide and is a member of numerous international cooperation networks.

National Agreements

The University of Pisa has established collaboration agreements with the region’s leading research institutions, starting with the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
Significant collaborations are also in place in the fields of medical research and student services.
