The University of Pisa organises courses of Italian language and culture for international students, through the University Language Centre.
Since July 2015, the University Language Centre (CLI) has become a CILS examination centre and, in addition to its standard Italian language courses for foreigners, it offers preparation exercises for the CILS exam.
The CILS Certification is an officially recognised qualification that attests to the level of linguistic-communicative proficiency in Italian as L2.
The CILS certification exams are held at the CLI according to an annual schedule, in the months of June and December.

There is also a free Italian language course for university students with international or special protection status (registration deadline: 31/03/2025)
ItaliAmo App
The ItaliAmo app is a free level A1 course in Italian language and culture for iOS and Android devices, developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The aim is to provide a new interactive tool for teaching the Italian language and promoting Italian cultural and productive excellence abroad.
Currently, the app is only available in English and Chinese, but other versions in the main foreign languages are planned to be launched soon.
