Open-admission Master’s degree courses

To transfer to an open-admission Master’s degree course at the University of Pisa from another university, you must follow the standard enrolment procedure.

You must also submit a transfer request to your former university, in accordance with its procedures and deadlines. Your former university will send the University of Pisa all documentation relating to your academic record, the so-called transfer record.

If, after 90 days from receipt of the transfer record, the student has not completed enrolment, the transfer record will be returned to your former university and the transfer procedure cancelled.

If you submit your request after 31 December 2025, you must do so at your current university and wait to be contacted by the student office contact person of the degree course you intend to enrol in, in order to complete the procedure.

For enrolment you must register on the Alice portal:

Validation of exams

After enrolment, the Board of the degree course will decide on the validation of exams taken at your former university. The resolution must be explicitly accepted, and you may request an amendment within 30 days of acceptance.
If you do not accept the resolution, your enrolment will be cancelled and the transfer record returned to your former university. In this case, you will be required to pay any instalments already due, unless the cancellation of enrolment and transfer occurs before 31 October 2024 (in which case, payment of fees follows Art. 7 Withdrawal from studies of the “Procedures and deadlines”, academic year 2025/2026).

Tuition Fee Reduction

For enrollment with transfer, late payment fees for the first installment do not apply.

You can find all the information about requesting a tuition fee reduction on the dedicated page.
In the year of enrollment, the reduction is always calculated based on financial status, but not on academic merit.
