Degree Thesis (ETD Project) ~ UNIPI

For Master’s, Single-cycle and Pre-reform degree courses, the degree thesis must be submitted exclusively in electronic format. After submitting the Degree Award Application, the candidate must:

access the ETD portal by entering their student ID number and the same password used to log in to the online services of the Alice portal;
• create the title page through the guided procedure;
• have the generated title page signed by the supervisor with one of the following types of signature:
- DIGITAL SIGNATURE (STRONGLY RECOMMENDED): the student sends the title page file by email to the supervisor, who signs it digitally, saves it, and returns it via email to the student;
- SCANNED HANDWRITTEN SIGNATURE: the student sends the title page file by email to the supervisor, who prints and signs it, then scans or photographs it and returns it via email to the student, together with a copy of an identity document;
the student must not sign the title page if the supervisor’s signature is digital, and may omit their own signature if the supervisor’s signature is scanned
upload the signed PDF of the title page to their personal page on the Alice portal, under “Conseguimento titolo”, by the deadline indicated in the Final Degree Examination Calendars.

Important: Once the title page has been created, the thesis title and the names of the supervisors can no longer be modified. However, the thesis file itself may be replaced up to six days before the start of the session (the exact deadline is indicated on the student’s personal page on the ETD portal).

If the electronic title page has already been completed, any withdrawal from the session must also be reported to the ETD staff by contacting etd@sba.unipi.it. The data entered up to that point will be deleted, allowing the student to restart the electronic thesis procedure from the beginning.
