Tutition Fees Reduction

International students may be eligible for a reduction of the annual university tuition fees. There are two ways to obtain a reduced tuition fee:

  1. Flat-rate tuition fees, which are automatically applied based on the student’s country of origin
  2. Income-based tuition fee reduction, based on the student’s ISEEU Parificato

Flat-rate tution fees

If your income and assets are located outside Italy, you are automatically assigned a flat-rate tuition fee based on your country of origin.
The applicable tuition fee is determined by applying a coefficient, based on the World Bank income classification of your country, to the maximum annual tuition fee of €2,900.

Tuition Fees reduction based on ISEEU Parificato

Students may apply to have their annual tuition fees calculated on the basis of their ISEEU Parificato.

Consult the tuition fee table to determine the amount due according to your ISEEU Parificato.

Important information

For non-Italian students and Italian citizens residing abroad who are not registered with AIRE:

The ISEEU Parificato can be issued free of charge by one of the following CAFs affiliated with the University of Pisa:

  • CAF ACLI S.r.l.
  • CAF CGIL Toscana S.r.l.
  • CAF CISL Pisa – Toscana Servizi S.r.l.
  • CAF FENAPI S.r.l.

To apply for the tuition fee reduction based on ISEEU parificato, students must:

  1. submit the application through the Alice Portal
  2. send the ISEEU Parificato certificate by email to iseeuparificato@unipi.it

First-year non-EU students requiring a study visa

Non-EU students requiring a study visa may enrol for the 2026-2027 academic year and apply for the tuition fee reduction by 31 December 2026, with no late application fee.

First-year EU and EU-equivalent students and students enrolled in subsequent years

Applications for the tuition fee reduction must be submitted by 2 November 2026.
Applications submitted after this deadline are accepted subject to the following late application fees:
