The Postgraduate Degree Course is intended for medical practitioners with an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of neck disorders and provides specialist training in the clinical use of ultrasound. 

The course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform and independently report cervical ultrasound examinations. It also introduces the main ultrasound-guided interventional diagnostic techniques and therapeutic procedures. Particular attention is devoted to the clinical application of ultrasound in the assessment of the salivary glands, thyroid, parathyroid glands, lymph nodes, soft tissues and the larynx. 

Training combines online lectures, clinical case discussions and supervised outpatient clinical placements, enabling participants to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical disorders. The programme also offers the opportunity to observe ultrasound-guided ablation procedures for the treatment of benign thyroid conditions performed as day surgery. 

Career opportunities

The Postgraduate Degree Course provides advanced specialist training in the differential diagnosis of cervical disorders using ultrasound. 

The knowledge and skills acquired in the fields of otorhinolaryngology, endocrinology and endocrine surgery enable graduates to practise in both public and private healthcare settings.

Regular students:

2500 € payable in 3 instalments

  • 1000 € no later than 11 January 2027
  • 750 € no later than 15 April 2027
  • 750 € no later than 15 June 2027

Registration fee reductions are available for 1 students as specified in the call for applications.
