Research areas: energy efficiency in buildings, HVAC systems, hybrid renewable energy systems (modelling, simulation, optimization and risk assessment), geothermal energy, and ground heat transfer.
Author/co-author of 49 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, indexed book series and conference proceedings; invited speaker at 9 international conferences and workshops.
Involved in research and consulting projects with public institutions and industry, including ENEA, GSE, Geo Network, the World Bank, Immergas, ANIMA/Assotermica, and CESI.
ACTIVITIES IN ENERGY ASSOCIATIONS
International Geothermal Association (IGA)
Member of the Heat Expert Group on data collection and statistical methodologies for geothermal heating and cooling (including heat pumps).
Member of the IGA–UNECE committee on the application of the UNFC classification to geothermal energy resources.
Italian Geothermal Union (UGI): Executive Secretary and Board Member (2015–2017); coordinator of the working group on data collection and statistical analysis of geothermal energy uses (2012--present).
