Prof. Fabio Coppedè joined the Department of Translational Research and of New Surgical and Medical Technologies of the University of Pisa in 2012 and was later promoted to tenure in 2015. He is actually Full Professor of Medical Genetics and Director of the Interdepartmental Research Center of Biology and Pathology of Aging of the University of Pisa. He is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Italian Society of Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics, the acting Coordinator of the “Epigenetics Working Group” of the Italian Society of Human Genetics, and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Epigenetics Society and of the Italian Federation of Life Sciences. He has been appointed as Editor in Chief of Current Genomics. His main research interests include genetics and epigenetics of complex diseases, with focus on major neurodegenerative diseases, aging, cancer, and autoimmune diseases, as well as the search of maternal genetic risk factors for the birth of a child with Down Syndrome. Prof. Coppedè authored over 150 articles (Scopus H-index = 45, Total Citations > 6.000).
