The “Young Researchers” call for proposals from the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) is an extraordinary funding initiative, promoted as part of the PNRR (Mission 4, Component 2, Investment 1.2), designed to attract and retain young researchers with scientific profiles of international excellence in Italy.
The program is aimed at young researchers generally no older than 40 (or up to 45, depending on how long ago they earned their PhD) who have already received significant international recognition.
Through specific public calls for proposals distributed on ministerial platforms such as the MUR’s GEA portal, the program funds fundamental and industrial research projects, while also promoting the possibility of direct recruitment by universities, pursuant to Ministerial Decree No. 919 of July 22, 2022. The initiative specifically supports:
