Application and enrolment for free-admission Master’s Degree held in Italian will take place from 8 July to 31 December 2026.
Visa applicants must start the online application procedure before arriving in Italy, in order to obtain admission to the chosen degree programme and allow the validation of their pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly portal.
The following instructions explain how to start the online application procedure for admission to the chosen degree programme.
Application procedure
- Register on the Alice portal . Enter your personal data and obtain your credentials. Once registered on the Alice portal, you will have to log in with your credentials and change your password in order to access Unipi’s online services (such as the Valutami portal or the Unipi e-learning platform).Upload documents in the appropriate sections:
- A passport-sized photo
- Your passport
Please note: do not continue to the section “Choose your degree programme”, as Master’s degree programmes are not listed on the Alice portal but only on the Ammissionelm portal.
2. Log in to the Ammissionlm Portal with your Alice credential and follow the next steps;
choose the Master’s Degree Course to which you have been admitted (the degree programme selected on the admission portal must exactly match the one indicated in the pre-enrolment application submitted on the Universitaly portal);
input the information relating to your Bachelor’s Degree and High School Diploma
upload the following documents:
- Bachelor’s Degree (with its official translation into Italian)
- Certificate of all examinations taken abroad (transcripts) (with its official translation into Italian)
- Syllabuses (on the letterhead of the foreign university or with the stamp of the university itself) of the above examinations, (with its official translation into Italian)
If you already have the admission letter for the degree programme, you must upload it to the AmmissioneLM portal among the attachments related to your academic qualification.
Once the administrative checks have been completed, your application will be evaluated by the Degree Programme Board and, within approximately 2–3 weeks, you will be able to download the admission decision. The admission decision must then be uploaded to the Universitaly portal so that the University of Pisa can proceed with the validation of your pre-enrolment application.
Enrolment
Enrolment is possible only after arriving in Italy and after applying for a residence permit.
To enrol, the following documents must be uploaded:
on the Alice portal – under the “Residence permits” section, select “Applicant visa status” and upload:
- The visa
- The post office receipt of the residence permit application in pdf format
- The details of your High School Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree under the SECRETARIAT section of the menu, in Degrees/Qualifications.
- Receipt of the application for a scholarship submitted to the DSU if any.
on the Ammissionelm portal
- Dichiarazione di Valore (DOV) issued by the Italian Diplomatic Representation competent for your country, accompanied by an official translation of the degree diploma in Italian, authenticated or with Apostille or the Statement of Comparability issued by CIMEA (in Italian).
These documents are required both for the finalisation of enrolment and for the issuance of the visa.
The Declaration of Value DoV is an official document issued by the Italian diplomatic representations and is necessary to enrol at the University of Pisa. It provides a brief description of the academic (university) degree awarded by an institution belonging to an educational system other than the Italian one. It is very important that you know which official academic supporting documents are needed to obtain the DoV, which authority should issue them and whether they need to be officially translated into Italian and/or legalised. For all these details, you must contact the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country where you reside (or in the country where you obtained your Bachelor’s degree) directly. We strongly advise you to start the procedure well in advance, as it may take many months to obtain the DoV.
Alternatively, you can apply for the CIMEA Statement of Comparability, the official Enic-Naric Centre for Italy. You can apply for certification via the DIPLOME platform reserved for students intending to enrol in a course at the University of Pisa. Create a personal account. In your profile you will find all the information on how to apply for certificates and the documentation you must submit. It will be possible to follow the status of requests and view certificates in pdf format in the “My Services” section. This service requires payment.
To complete your registration, you must upload all the required documents to the Alice Portal and Ammissionelm as described above.
Payment
To complete the enrolment:
- pay the first instalment of tuition fees, the regional tax and the revenue stamp (which will appear on the Alice portal after admission to the degree course)
OR
- upload the receipt of the DSU grant application.
You can check the progress of your application on the Ammisionelm portal.
Once your registration has been finalised, you will find your enrolment certificate on the Alice portal, in the Menu/Secretariat/Certificates/Iscrizione sections. You can read your matriculation number on your registration certificate.
Please check all uploaded documentation: if any documents are missing, your application will not be evaluated.
