Pre-enrolment on Universitaly – Non EU citizenship

Non-EU candidates requiring a study visa must complete the pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly portal for the degree programme chosen at the University of Pisa.

Pre-enrolment deadline a.y. 2026-2027

The pre-enrolment application on Universitaly must be completed by 30 September 2026. For limited-access programmes, any earlier deadline specified in the relevant admission call remains applicable.

The University examines the applications and may request additional documents for evaluation.

Once confirmation of validation has been received, the applicant must contact the Italian diplomatic office competent for their country of residence abroad and follow the instructions for requesting the Italian type D study visa for study/university enrolment.

A study visa can be requested only after the University of Pisa has validated the pre-enrolment application.

Important information

Student Quotas

For the academic year 2026/2027, the University of Pisa has established a maximum number of admissible non-EU visa applicants for each degree programme.

The total number of places allocated under this quota system is 4,500. Once the maximum number of places available for a specific degree programme has been reached, the University may no longer validate additional pre-enrolment applications for that programme. In such cases, where possible, applicants may be offered an alternative programme in a related field with places still available.

Please refer to the table showing the available places  for Bachelor’s Degrees, Single-Cycle Master’s Degrees, Master’s Degrees, and programmes with limited enrolment.

In order to have your qualifications assessed in advance, you can send an email to the president of the selected course of study, enclosing your qualifications and a list of exams with the study programmes completed in your country.

Pre-enrolment applications for Italian-taught Master’s degree programmes will be validated only after the student uploads on the Universitaly portale the “Admission Decision” issued by the relevant Degree Programme Board.
