Special Cases

United States – High School Diploma – HSD

Students with a High School Diploma (HSD) may register if they have passed at least three Advanced Placements (APs) examinations in subjects relevant to the course of study in which they wish to enrol, with scores from 3 to 5.

An Italian language AP is compulsory exclusively for students with foreign citizenship.

The AP in Italian is not counted among the three required for Italian students or those enrolling in English-language courses.

To apply for admission to an Italian university, you must have acquired these qualifications after having completed at least the last two years of attendance with positive results in the foreign education system.

Institutions of higher education will verify the qualifications and possible admission of candidates, taking into account the entire training course they have completed, in line with current national and international regulations and on the basis of their autonomy. Students with an Associate Degree, which is a High School Diploma followed by two years of College, can also enrol, even if these two years were completed in a country other than the USA.
