Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is one of China’s leading universities. Traditionally focused on engineering, science and technology, it has also gained recognition in other areas such as management and the humanities (ranked among the world’s top 200 universities and within the top 18 in China for its best-ranked subjects).
For the recognition of study periods completed at BIT, students must contact the CAI and their Departmental CAI assistant (contacts available at this link) as soon as possible to verify all the necessary requirements.
Among the attachments at the bottom of this page is the report of a student of the University of Pisa who attended a three-week Summer School at BIT in Beijing, containing practical information about the university and life in Beijing.
Applications are now open for students enrolled in bachelor’s degree courses (who have completed at least two semesters at UNIPI) and master’s degree courses to complete the Fall Semester study at BIT (early September 2026 – mid-January 2027).
BIT offers a tuition fee exemption for 10 students at the University of Pisa, who will have to cover the costs of room and board on campus, flights, insurance, and visas.
All information on procedures, deadlines and cost estimates, is available on the International Exchange Students and StudyinBIT pages, in particular we invite you to read the BIT Exchange Fact Sheet annex. Programs available in English are listed in the attachements at the bottom of this page
For the purposes of ECTS recognition of the period completed at BIT, it will be mandatory to contact the CAI and the department’s CAI support as soon as possible before departure and verify all necessary requirements with them.
Individual nominations will not be considered by BIT unless they are on the Nomination List. It should be noted that the selection of applications is carried out exclusively by BIT.
For information not present in the BIT Exchange Fact Sheet or for clarification on programs (and syllabuses), applications, logistics, you can write directly to Ms. Zhengyang Cai: incoming_exchange@bit.edu.cn.
