We promote the dissemination of knowledge and support social transformation, contributing to the progress of both the community and the region
Career Labs are workshops designed to be interactive and experiential. Starting from theoretical principles, participants are encouraged to directly apply what they have learnt through classroom activities using multimedia materials such as videos, models and exercises to work on individually and in groups.
Career Labs are divided into thematic groups. Each workshop focuses on a specific aspect of the overall subject it belongs to. For this reason, although each Career Lab can be attended individually, we recommend attending all the workshops within the same group in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
At the end of each Career Lab, you can take a short test to earn an Open badge, a digital certificate that you can add to your digital CV.
The workshops are open to the entire student community of the University of Pisa and recent graduates up to 18 months after graduation.
Participation is free. The number of workshops is limited, so registration via the Career Centre portal is required.
The workshops are repeated monthly to give everyone the opportunity to participate. Please cancel your registration if you think you are no longer able to attend, so as not to preclude those on the waiting list. Career Labs are usually held in person. For full details on dates, venues and times of each workshop, please see the calendar.
By participating in the Career Labs, you can obtain an Open badge, a digital certificate recognised by institutions and companies, which can be added to your digital CV and various platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, AlmaLaurea).
To earn it, you must pass the tests of all Career Labs in the same subject group. Tests are given at the end of each workshop in the presence of the teacher and are passed by answering 3 out of 5 questions correctly. Only if you fail the test, you will receive an e-mail notification and be given the opportunity to retake it in another session within the calendar year.
The Open badge is issued by e-mail to the institutional address (@studenti.unipi.it) at the beginning of the month following the completion of the cycle.
By participating in Career Labs, you can obtain the recognition for the elective credits within your study plan, depending on the regulations of your course of study. We recommend that you always check this opportunity by contacting your teaching unit. To apply for CFUs recognition, all you need to do is present your Open badge.
