Maria Beatrice Coltelli

Maria-Beatrice Coltelli obtained the graduation in Chemistry on February 2001 and the PHD "Galileo galilei" in Chemical Sciences on 2005, both at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa.
During the PhD, she spent a period of three months in Belgium at the University of Leuven.
As post-doc granted researcher she followed the scientific activities of european and regional projects. She had an activity of teaching on Managing and Treatment of Solid Wastes in University of Pisa and did lectures about recycling of materials in the Master Ambiente of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Moreover she developed a spin-off company, SPIN-PET, owned by University of Pisa. She worked as technician in a laboratory for material testing (PONTLAB) for about one year.
On September 2013 she began the activity of researcher at the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering up to 2019, when she became Associate Professor.
Her researches are focused on materials science, in particular polymer blends and composites. She took part to research projects in the field of nanostructured materials, plastic recycling and materials from renewable sources.
Currently she teaches in courses for Chemical Engineers (related to Materials Science and Engineering and Polymer Science and Technology) and Materials and Nanotechnology (related to Reactive Processing and Recycling of Polymers) and is responsible for the scientific activity of some european projects. She is coordinator of the project PLAMINPACK (PRIMA).
She coordinates the "Chemical Engineering and Materials" curriculum of the PhD in Industrial Engineering.
She is the reference for University of Pisa, participating at the BIC consortium as associate member, regarding bioeconomy projects development concerning CBE EU calls. In the framework of this activity, she is the National Coordinator of the BISC-E European student challenge.
She is author/co-author of more than 120 papers published on international journals, co-authors of books and of three patents.
