-Master's degree in Medicine and Surgery (Medical and Surgery school, University of Pisa) on 28/10/04, with the thesis: “Hyperhomocysteinemia in the acute phase of the spontaneous dissection of the efferent cerebral vessels”. Final result: 110/110 with a summa cum laude distinction.
-Specialization in Neurology, School of Specialization in Neurology (University of Pisa) on 05/11/2009, with the thesis “Cerebral activity in patients affected by Parkinson's disease during hand movements : study by functional magnetic resonance”. His research is mainly focused on neurodegenerative deseases, and more specifically on Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Filippo Baldacci deals with the application of the concepts of precision medicine applied to neurodegenerative diseases (he is a member of the international collaboration Alzheimer Precision Medicine Initiative (APMI)). He carries out clinical research in the context of headache, with a particular interest in chronic and drug-resistant forms, associated to psychiatric diseases.
-From January 2016 to February 2017, he attended as a researcher, the Neurological Institute of the Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière, the Pierre & Marie Curie University, Paris (UPMC, Paris 6, Sorbonne University, Paris). In particular, he was nominated Visiting Researcher by the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the University of Pisa in such Institute, in a collaborative project, primarily for research purposes between the two Universities (still ongoing).
-In collaboration with the Agenzia Regionale di Sanità (ARS of Florence), he participated to the development of algorithms to calculate the prevalence of Parkinson's disease in Tuscany, starting from administrative data.
-For a few years, he is also a member of the Tuscan study group of Mild Cognitive Impairment associated to the cerebrovascular pathology (VMCI-Tuscany Study), and of the Train the Brain group, for consideration and rehabilitation/physical therapy of subjects with a Mild Cognitive Impairment.
-He participated in the national working group, coordinated by Istituto Superiore di Sanità, for drawing up the national guidelines Diagnosi e terapia della Malattia di Parkinson (Diagnosis and therapy of Parkinson's Disease).
-He is a member of the international research group Alzheimer Precision Medicine Initiative (APMI), led by Professor Harald Hampel, and the international research group INSIGHT pre-AD group, led by Professor Bruno Dubois
