History of the University of Pisa
In 1343, Pope Clement VI’s bull In Supremae Dignitatis officially recognised the University as a Studio Generale, granting it unique privileges and autonomy that were only afforded to other European cities such as Prague and Heidelberg.

Sustainable Development and 2030 Agenda
The University of Pisa focuses its actions and strategic choices on the objectives of the 2030 UN Agenda.
Since 2020, the University’s Commission for Sustainable Development (CoSA) has been created to work on several key areas for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Unipi for Peace and Human Rights
The University of Pisa is actively involved in the promotion of peace, human rights and sustainability, following important international and local initiatives.
