The Postgraduate Degree Course provides advanced training in the application of artificial intelligence to archaeology and cultural heritage, with a particular focus on the analysis, interpretation and enhancement of archaeological data and contexts. The programme integrates archaeological expertise with computational and data-driven approaches.
The curriculum combines theoretical and practical training in artificial intelligence, including Large Language Models (LLMs), with computational methods for archaeology, covering data analysis, programming, and the management of complex datasets, including images, texts, spatial data and three-dimensional models.
The course also explores digital documentation techniques and emerging technologies for the automated analysis and monitoring of archaeological contexts. Participants develop the knowledge and skills required to build computational models for archaeological interpretation, create digital tools and research infrastructures, and support research, conservation and public engagement in the field of cultural heritage.
Sbocchi professionali
The Postgraduate Degree Course prepares graduates for careers in both the public and private sectors, particularly within technologically advanced and innovation-driven organisations.
Career opportunities include the design of information systems and digital platforms, the development of tools for automated data analysis, and positions in universities, museums, cultural heritage institutions, cultural organisations, research centres and companies operating in the digital heritage sector, as well as opportunities in advanced academic research.
The course responds to the growing demand for professionals capable of combining archaeological expertise with artificial intelligence to support the digital transformation of cultural heritage. Graduates will be equipped to manage and analyse complex and heterogeneous datasets—including images, three-dimensional models, spatial information and textual sources—to develop computational models for archaeological interpretation, and design innovative solutions for research, conservation and public access to cultural heritage.
age sector, as well as opportunities in advanced research.
