The Summer School Human Centric Technologies for the factory and society of the future: an industry 5.0 perspective is the 4th edition of the Summer School Human-Centric ICT for Industry 5.0. It will focus on methodologies and enabling information and communication technologies (ICT) for an autonomous, sustainable, resilient, and person-centered industry.

The Summer School will provide an analysis of both the state of the art and frontier research in the field of ICT technologies for Industry 5.0, such as Artificial Intelligence, Embodied Intelligence, Smart Material Devices, Wearable Devices and Future Networks.

The Summer School is part of the advanced training activities within the ‘FoReLab’ Excellence Project at Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione (DII). It is designed for master’s and doctoral students, early-career researchers, and professionals from both academic and industrial backgrounds. The course will award 6 ECTS credits (48 hours of classroom lectures) upon successful completion of the program and passing of the final examination.

Students interested in earning the 6 ECTS credits are required to agree with the Summer School coordinators on a Project Work topic, and then submit their written report by email.

The Summer School will be activated with at least 20 students. The maximum number of participants is set to 50 students.

Lectures and project teamwork will take place in Pisa, at Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione, Via G. Caruso, 16.

The program will be activated also in distance learning mode (TEAMS platform).

Research, industry, and public administration sectors are all covered in the Summer School program. The Summer School offers lessons from both industry experts and the academic community, focusing on the technologies that drive Industry 5.0 and the society of the future. The goal of the Summer School is to provide participants with the opportunity to understand the prerequisites, facilitators, and potential of Industry 5.0. Prior knowledge of specific technologies is not necessary, and the objective is to provide attendees with a strong foundation in these technologies, including their current challenges and significant advantages.
