Transfer to the University of Pisa – Incoming

Students already enrolled in a PhD programme at another Italian or foreign university may apply to transfer to a PhD programme at the University of Pisa.

The University of Pisa may issue the nulla osta if:

Next steps after approval

If the nulla osta is issued:

  1. The candidate must obtain a clearance document from the current university
  2. Once the clearance document is obtained, the candidate can complete enrolment at the University of Pisa according to the instructions and deadline communicated by the PhD office
  3. Upon enrolment, the candidate must pay the Regional tax of €140

Transfer from the University of Pisa – Outgoing

PhD candidates who wish to transfer from the University of Pisa to another university must:

Outgoing transfers for scholarship holders are subject to the rules and procedures of the destination university and do not guarantee continuation of the scholarship previously awarded at the University of Pisa.
