In light of the large number of applications received, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China has increased the number of scholarships to 20.
The Young Envoys Scholarship (YES) Programme is a scholarship initiative promoted by the Chinese Ministry of Education and organised by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). It invites Italian university students to visit China for cultural and academic exchanges.
The initiative was launched following the State Visit of President Sergio Mattarella in November last year and represents an important step towards strengthening cooperation with Chinese academia, offering an exceptional opportunity for students.
The University of Pisa is among the Italian universities invited by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to take part in the programme, specifically in the cultural trip hosted by three Chinese universities (Shandong University, Ocean University of China, and Yantai University), scheduled from 26 October to 4 November 2025.
Eight students will have the opportunity to engage with their Chinese peers, visit Chinese and Italian companies, experience campus life in China, and take part in sports and cultural activities.
Meals, accommodation and programme costs will be covered by the Embassy of the PRC, while participants will be responsible for their round-trip travel expenses and health insurance.
Interested students must apply through their home university, which will forward the list of nominees to CEAIE and the host universities in China.
A provisional programme is available below.
