Shell’s Innovation Partnership with Scuderia Ferrari HP is one of the longest and most successful in
motorsport, starting 75 years ago at the inaugural FIA Formula 1™ World Championship in 1950.
Race fuels and race lubricants are developed and optimised to deliver more performance and
efficiency to the specific Scuderia Ferrari HP power unit. Part of the development is based on the use of
advanced digital technology – more than 1,000,000 fuel simulations were used to maximise
performance and efficiency of the race fuel currently on track – and part is based on laboratory and
engine tests. Engine oils play a vital role in racing as finishing a race depends on maximum reliability.
We optimise them to clean, protect, lubricate, and cool the engine under extreme conditions. It helps
deliver sustained performance, improved efficiency, and longer-lasting engine protection where it
matters most.
By continuously investing in motorsport R&D, Shell is harnessing insights from the elite racing category
to evolve road products, delivering enhanced performance and efficiency to customers worldwide.
