L’incontro fa parte del ciclo 2025-26 dal titolo “International Webinars in Nuclear Energy”. Il ciclo è organizzato nell’ambito del progetto ENEN2plus, dell’European Nuclear Education Network.

Ahmed Bentaib is a nuclear safety expert who worked at IRSN from 2000 to 2024 and has been with ASNR since 2025. He earned his PhD from the University of Lyon in 1993 and obtained his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from the University of Orléans in 2020. His research interests encompass severe accidents, hydrogen dispersion modelling, and mitigation and combustion phenomena relevant to the safety of nuclear and industrial facilities. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. Throughout his career, Ahmed Bentaib has contributed to numerous national, European, OECD, and IAEA projects. With over two decades of professional experience, he currently serves as Vice-Chair of the OECD-NEA Working Group on the Analysis and Management of Accidents (WGAMA) and as Chair of the ETSON Expert Group on Severe Accidents. In parallel with his research activities, he collaborates with universities by delivering lectures and supervising PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and Master’s students.
