The University of Pisa has obtained the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) 2021-2027.
Accreditation is a prerequisite for participating in all activities of the Erasmus+ programme, from individual mobility to cooperation projects, strategic partnerships and Jean Monnet actions.
It is a kind of passport issued by the Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture (EACEA) of the European Commission to higher education institutions, after a careful selection procedure for applications.
The internationalisation strategies, the measures taken to comply with the principles of non-discrimination, transparency and inclusion of all students and staff, including those in disadvantaged conditions, as well as the commitment to ensure full and automatic recognition of credits earned abroad, are subject to evaluation.
Universities that have already obtained an ECHE charter in the previous seven years of the programme, such as the University of Pisa, must also undergo periodic evaluation, renewing their commitment to comply with the principles contained in the Erasmus charter.
The Erasmus Policy Statement is an integral part of the institutional strategy of the University of Pisa and is a crucial document to obtain the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
