Summer Student at Fermilab and Other US Laboratories

Physics students will be trained in the reserarch groups working on the new Fermilab initiatives, the Mu2e, Icarus, SBND experiments, as well as future neutrino physics experiments as Dune, or in the Fermilab group which collaborates with the CMS experiment at CERN, or in the theory group. Some students may be trained in other US laboratories or universities outside Fermilab.

Engineering students will be trained in the Fermilab accelerator division, technical division or computing division or in groups working on applied research in other US laboratories or universities.

Each intern will be supervised by one Mentor, an employee of the US laboratory. The mentor is responsible of the entire training program of the intern for the 9 weeks of permanence on the us soil. Each intern will present a written report which will be object of evaluation by a University of Pisa committee.

The Summer School will be activated with at least 10 students. The maximum number of participants is set to 40 students.

The Summer School will be held on campus in Batavia, Illinois US, at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Kirk and Wilson Road.

Master students in Physics, Applied Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Material Science, Computer Science, and Engineering.

Being enrolled in a Master program in Physics or Engineering.
