Physics students will be trained in the reserarch groups working on the new Fermilab initiatives, the Mu2e, Icarus, SBND experiments, as well as future neutrino physics experiments as Dune, or in the Fermilab group which collaborates with the CMS experiment at CERN, or in the theory group. Some students may be trained in other US laboratories or universities outside Fermilab.
Engineering students will be trained in the Fermilab accelerator division, technical division or computing division or in groups working on applied research in other US laboratories or universities.
Each intern will be supervised by one Mentor, an employee of the US laboratory. The mentor is responsible of the entire training program of the intern for the 9 weeks of permanence on the us soil. Each intern will present a written report which will be object of evaluation by a University of Pisa committee.
The Summer School will be activated with at least 10 students. The maximum number of participants is set to 40 students.
The Summer School will be held on campus in Batavia, Illinois US, at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Kirk and Wilson Road.
Provide a 9-week hands-on training in a International particle physics laboratory
Master students in Physics, Applied Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Material Science, Computer Science, and Engineering.
Being enrolled in a Master program in Physics or Engineering.

Tuition fees: There is no tuition fee to be paid.
The successful candidates will only have to pay for:
Students will be employed as trainees by Fermilab, and they will get a net salary of approximately 600 $ per week + free accomodation and a free shared rental car.
The Fermilab Visa Office will provide the documents needed to the students for obtaining the required J1 entry Visa.
