Sensory Neuroscience – NEUROBRIDGE

Language: English

Period: 3 – 9 September 2025

Application Deadline: 30 June 2025

Program Intensity: Full-time

ECTS: 3

Tuition fees: 0€

The interdisciplinary Summer School “Sensory Neuroscience – NEUROBRIDGE” , organized by prof. Paola Binda (University of Pisa) and prof. Martin Rolfs (Science of Intelligence; Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), will focus on fundamental concepts of (multi)sensory-motor integration and on the main tools of the trade: neuroimaging, neurophysiology, psychophysics.

The Summer School is connected with the TNE initiative NEUROBRIDGE, which promotes exchanges with international institutions, and it is a Circle U. initiative involving two other institutions of the Alliance (besides the University of Pisa): Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and UCLouvain, which contribute to the teaching faculty. The cluster Science of Intelligence is among its organizers.

It will bring together a broad range of participants and speakers from the member universities of the Circle U. Alliance, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. The program features a combination of lectures and hands on activities including

  • an fMRI bootcamp at the Imago7 ultra-high field MRI facility;
  • a site visit to IMT (School for Advanced Studies Lucca);
  • a site visit to the Human Anatomy Museum in Pisa.

Successful completion of the program will give students an overview of the current neuroscientific research in sensory and cognitive neuroscience.

The Summer School will be activated with at least 2 students. The maximum number of participants is set to 30 students.

The Summer School will be held on campus in Pisa and it will be hosted at the Gipsoteca di Arte Antica dell’Università di Pisa.

Reasons to Apply
