➢ CURRENT ACADEMIC POSITION
Elena Bargelli is a Full Professor of Private Law - University of Pisa - Department of Law – Via del Collegio Ricci, 10 Pisa, 56126 Pisa (Italy)
She currently serves as Coordinator of the UNIPI PhD programme in Legal Sciences and the chair of the UNIPI Bioethics Committee.
She has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for European Tort Law (ETL) in Vienna since 2017, of the PhD Programme in Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Milan since 2025, and of the Advisory Council of the UNESCO Housing Chair URV in Spain since 2023.
She has been Co-Chair of the European Law Institute’s (ELI) Family and Succession Law Special Interest Group since 2016.
➢ TEACHING ACTIVITIES
Undergraduate teaching includes: - Private Law, Transnational Private Law (Law Department, since 2020); previously, Private Law, Family Law (Department of Political Science, from 2012 to 2020).
PhD courses (jointly coordinated with P. Albi, V. Calderai, A. Petrucci) include: Law of Obligations in private and labour law: current perspectives and historical and comparative analysis (a.y. 2025/2026), The sources of private law and labour law from a historical and comparative perspective (a.y. 2024/2025), Private autonomy in private law and comparative private law, in labour law and in the European legal tradition (a.y. 2023/2024).
