After the Dr. Ing. degree (cum Laude) in electrical engineering from the University of Pisa and research activity in sonar digital signal processing algorithms, since 1994 Vincenzo Lottici has been with the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Pisa, where he is currently an Associate Professor in Communication Systems. He participated in several international and national research projects, and specifically, he has been taking an active role in the standardization activity promoted by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) of the mobile radio system TETRA release2. He is or has been TPC member for numerous IEEE conferences in wireless communications and signal processing, such as ICC2019, PIRMC2018, ICC2018, Globecom2017, Globecom2016, WCNC2016, Globecom2015, WCNC2015, ICC2015, ICC2014, ICC2013, WCNC2013, Globecom2013, WCNC2013, ICUWB2013, WCNC2012, ICUWB2011, ICC2011, WCNC2011, ICASSP2010, PIMRC2010, WCNC2010, CIP2010, Globecom2009, SPAWC2009, EUSIPCO2006, Globecom2006, and from Dec. 2012, he joined the Editorial Board of EURASIP Advances on Signal Processing.
He received the Best Paper Award in 2006 for the work A Theoretical Framework for Soft Information Based Synchronization in Iterative (Turbo) Receivers, EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, April 2005, by the EU-funded project Network of Excellence in Wireless Communications (NEWCOM). His research interests include the broad area of signal processing for communications, with emphasis on synchronization, dynamic resource allocation, cognitive radio and compressive sensing. The research activity is documented by more than 130 papers on international journal and conferences (see http://www.iet.unipi.it/v.lottici) and 2 books.
Research interests:
Code-aided turbo parameter estimation with particular emphasis to turbo-synchronization;
Synchronization and channel estimation for filter-bank multicarrier and Ultra-wideband (UWB) systems;
Waveform adaptation in cognitive radio;
Resource allocation in MIMO-BIC-OFDM systems;
Resource allocation in cooperative and non-cooperative wireless networks.
