Research interests/main publications

Simona Beccone's research interests focus on Literary theory, Metaphysical poetry (G. Herbert), Romantic poetry (J. Keats, P.B. Shelley), Alchemy in anglophone literature, Ecocriticism, nonviolent revolution and British Romanticism, Cognitive psychology and creativity, and Jungian analysis.
Within these fields, she has published monographs, articles and essays in collective volumes.
She has recently published an essay on the influence of ancient Indian philosophy on English literature (P.B. Shelley’s Cosmology of Light and the Doctrine of the Brahman, 2022). She is currently working on the literary treatment of alchemical symbolism and imagery in contemporary anglophone literature, on the dynamics of contagious and viral metaphors in nineteenth-century pandemic literature and the dialogue between East and West in XIX-c. British/Indian poetry.
