RESEARCH FIELD
In the period January 2008-August 2023 he worked as Researcher at the IGG-CNR. Since 1st September 2023 he is Professor at the UniPi-DST, in the sectors of applied geology, and more particularly in the hydrogeology. Most research activities are in the fields of Hydrology, Groundwater hydrology, Isotope hydrology and Hydro-geochemistry. He deals with water cycle and water resources issues taking into account global/climate changes and promoting/coordinating studies in sensitive environments (small islands, Arctic region) with a multidisciplinary approach, in which geology, geophysics, hydrology, geochemistry/isotopes geochemistry and modelling tools are involved. Within these researches, he performs activities of quantitative hydrology, hydrochemistry and isotope hydrology, with the aim of understanding both physical and chemical processes affecting water systems; he steers the definition of water systems conceptual model and participates in the development of numerical models.
