Luca INCROCCI (born in Lucca on 21 June 1969)

1988-1994. Student in Agricultural Sciences of Sant’Anna- School of Advanced Studies-Pisa and University of Pisa

1994: Degree (cum laude) in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Pisa.

1996-1999: PhD in Horticulture (1999) at the Sant’Anna- School of Advanced Studies-Pisa .

1998-2009: lab technician at the Department of Applied Plant Biology of the University of Pisa.

2009-2017: Research Assistant at the University of Pisa.

2017-: Associate Professor of Vegetable and Flower Crops at the University of Pisa.

Past or current BS or MS courses held at the University of Pisa: Vegetable and Ornamental Crops; Environmental Impact of Vegetable and Ornamental Crop Production.

2000-2017: BS and MS courses, short courses and seminars (ERASMUS) at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, University of Salento (Lecce); University of Almeria, Spain; Szent István University, Godollo, Hungary.

As expert of plant physiology and growing technology of greenhouse and nursery crops, L.I. had participated to many regional, national or international RTD projects funded by MIPA (e.g. FLORPRO, IRRIFLORVIVA, AZORT), MIUR (PRIN), ENEA, UE (HORTIMED, FLOWAID, EUPHOROS), regional project funded by Regione Toscana (e.g. IDRI 2001-2004, VIS 2011-2013; IRRIGO 2013-2014; ERBAVOLANT 2017;COLTIVAMI 2018-2020; ERBAVOLANT 2019-2021) founded by and Regione Liguria (SEGIF, 2012-2014; TREFLOR 2014-2015; OTTIPROGRAM 2017; FUORISUOLO SMART 2017) and other public or private entities.

2003-2006: L.I. was involved in two PRIN projects on soilless culture, which were coordinated by prof. A. Garibaldi at the University of Torino and in the PRIN 2009 project “Physiological response of vegetable crops to boron excess” L. coordinated by Prof. Alberto Pardossi (University of Pisa)

Reviewer for several international scientific journals, e.g. Scientia Horticulturae, HortScience; Agronomy; Horticulturae; Agriculture Water Management; Plant and Soil.

He had created with some colleagues some software to increase the water nutrient efficiency (CAL-FERT and GREEN-FERT), to promote the soilless culture technique (Hydrotools), some of these in 5 different languages (Nutrient Solution Calculator and Fertilizer calculator available on Italian, English, Spanish, Hungarian, and Dutch).

More than 150 publications, with nearly 65 articles published in ISI journals.
