Geologic and structural mapping of highly deformed and undeformed terranes; structural analysis, measurement and analysis of stratigraphic sections with basic skills in sedimentary and stratigraphic analyses of turbiditic systems.
Analysis and interpretation of medium-shallow levels structures in subduction and collisional systems from mega-scale to micro-scale.
Deformation in brittle and brittle-ductile shear zones with particular respect to clay-rich faults: formation of scaly fabrics, distribution of shear deformation through fault rock volumes and degree of strain localization.
Studies of fluid-rock interactions through detailed structural and geochemical analysis of syntectonic vein systems.
Structural and geochemical characterization of pseudotachylytes and frictional melts.
Analysis of mineralized fracture systems in serpentinites and characterization of asbestos minerals formation.

Exhumed thrust structures (Internal Ligurian Units, Northern Appenines, Italy; Marin Headlands terrane, Franciscan Complex, California; Kodiak Accretionary Complex, Kodiak Islands, Alaska); ophiolitic units of Tuscany and analysis of asbestos-related mineralization; amphibolite facies ophiolitic units and related metasedimentary cover in the Southern Zone, Damara belt, W Namibia; coastal exposures of Tygerberg Terrane N of Cape Town, Sud Africa.
