Im a Full Professor of Agribusiness, Rural Development and Branding at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment of University of Pisa.
Since 2022 I'm the Rector's delegate for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Culture and Social Innovation and the scientific coordinator of the Contamination Lab.
I'm academic chair and WP coordinator of the Circle U. Alliance.
I'm the vice-director of the Msc in "Italian Wines and Foreigner Markets" coordinated by Sant'Anna School.
Ive got my PhD in Economics of Food and Environmental Resources from University of Naples Parthenope and previously, I attended a Master of Science (MSc) in Food Economics and Marketing at University of Reading (UK).
Ive been Researcher, Associate Professor and Full Professor at University of Macerata Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism from 2006 to 2021, where I developed 2 Double Title Degrees in Tourism with Spain and Ukraine, and Ive been visiting professor in several Universities abroad (San Francisco State, Arctic University of Tromso, Goteborg, Oviedo).
I have experience as external expert, evaluator, consultant and invited speaker in the fields of Food, Rural and regional development, Innovation, Sustainable Tourism, Smart Specialization Strategy and University-Business Collaboration for several DGs of the European Commission (RTD, JRC, EAC, Regio), for the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, for the Italian Ministry of University and Research and for the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, as well as for several Regional Governments.
My works have been published in several international books and journals. Im co-editor of the book series "Consumer Science and Strategic Marketing" published by Elsevier, Managing Editor of the "International Food and Agribusiness Management Review" and Associate Editor of "Food Economy". Im member of the Scientific Board of the British Food Journal and the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education.
Ive served as consultant and trainer for several agri-food firms in Europe and Ive been coordinator of several Erasmus+ funded projects (The Wine Lab, FoodBiz, ON-IT) and researcher/investigator in many national and international research projects.
