Born in 1958. Studied under the direction of Vittorio Sainati (graduate and post-graduate in Moral Philosophy, Pisa University), Alberto Caracciolo ("Perfezionamento" (PhD) in Theoretical Philosophy, Genova University), D.A.A.D. study grant in Mannheim, Germany.
From 1984: researcher in Philosophy at the University of Pisa. Several studies on Martin Heideggers thought and on contemporary Hermeneutics (especially on the problem of hermeneutical logic, different from both dialectic and formal logic: see "Logica ed ermeneutica: Interpretazione di Heidegger", 1982, "Filosofia, storia, temporalità", 1988, "Essere e tempo di Heidegger. Two main areas of research: the development of modern Jewish thought (above all Franz Rosenzweig, Gershom Scholem, Walter Benjamin, Emmanuel Levinas: see "Linguaggio della rivelazione: Filosofia e teologia nel pensiero di Franz Rosenzweig", 1990, "Esperienza e paradosso", 1994, "Il pensiero ebraico nel Novecento, editor, 2014) and the foundation of a philosophy of religion in a pluralistic age (see "Introduzione alla filosofia della religione", 1996, "Tre domande su Dio: un game book filosofico", 1998, "Filosofia delle religioni. Come orientarsi nell'epoca dell'indifferenza e dei fondamentalismi", 2012). From 1998: associate professor of Theoretic Philosophy and Philosophy of Religion at the University of Pisa. Studies on the relationship between Continental and Analytical philosophy of language (see "El giro linguistico: hermeneutica y analisi del lenguaje", 2000) and on the genesis of some philosophical and religious concepts (experience; love, person: see "I paradossi dellamore tra grecità, ebraismo e cristianesimo", 2002; "Il peccato originale come problema filosofico", 2014).
From 2001: full professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Pisa. Development of a project on metaphoric language in the works of some important philosophers (Aristotle, Immanuel Kant, Martin Heidegger). Metaphors such as: house, path, way, light, darkness, circle, orientation are discussed, (see "Paradossi del senso: Questioni di filosofia", 2002).
