Stefano Pini, MD, is tenured Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy. He has been appointed in February 2014 to the National Scientific Qualification to function as Full Professor of Psychiatry in Italian Universities. He is currently Coordinator of Outpatient Clinic for Anxiety and Mood Disorders at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pisa. Dr Pini is member of the European Psychiatric Association (AEP), the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) and the American Psychopathological Association (APPA). He is a member of the ECNP Anxiety Disorders Network (ADRN). His interests are in the area of clinical characterization and treatment of comorbidity between mood and anxiety disorders. He also worked extensively on bipolar and schizophrenia spectrum disorders and, more recently, on clinical and neurobiological correlates of anxiety disorders. He participated in several international and national multicenter studies and received institutional grants for studies on phenomenology, neuropsychological and genetic aspects of deficit schizophrenia, clinical, biological and psychosocial aspects of bipolar II disorder and clinical and neurobiological characterization of adult separation anxiety disorder. He has been principal investigator in numerous clinical trials on the efficacy of antidepressants and atypical antipsychotics. Dr Pini published extensively in peer reviewed international scientific journals and is a reviewer for various psychiatric journals. He totalized an H Index of 32 (Google Scholar) and a RG SCORE of 38.88 (ResearchGate)

Stefano Pini è Professore Associato di Psichiatria presso il Dipartimento di Psichiatria dellUniversità di Pisa. Nel Febbraio 2014 ha conseguito lAbilitazione Scientifica Nazionale come Professore Ordinario di Psichiatria. E responsabile degli Ambulatori per il trattamento dei Disturbi dAnsia e dellUmore della 2°Unità Operativa di Psichiatria, Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana.
I suoi interessi clinici e di ricerca sono indirizzati principalmente alla caratterizzazione clinica ed al trattamento della comorbidità tra disturbi dansia e dellumore. Inoltre, ha lavorato approfonditamente anche nel campo dei disturbi dello spettro bipolare e schizofrenico. Il prof. Pini ha preso parte e coordinato numerosi trials clinici internazionali su antidepressivi ed antipsicotici di seconda generazione.
Il Prof. Pini è membro dellEuropean College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP), dellECNP Anxiety Disorders Network (ADRN) e dellAmerican Psychopathological Association (APPA).
E inoltre membro della New York Academy of Sciences.
Ha pubblicato estensivamente in riviste scientifiche peer reviewed e svolge attività di revisore scientifico per numerose riviste psichiatriche internazionali.
