Associate Professor at the DESTEC Department (Department of Energy, Systems, Territory, and Construction Engineering) at the University of Pisa, specializing in the scientific disciplinary sector ICAR/13 Industrial Design. His research focuses on design innovation for high-end production districts.
At the University of Pisa, he teaches courses such as Fundamentals of Design Laboratory, Design for Circular Economy, and Interior Design in the Bachelor's Degree program in Industrial Design Engineering. In 2021, he was selected as a visiting professor at La Sapienza University in Rome, where he delivered lectures on design-driven innovation for high-end manufacturing sectors and wearable technologies.
In 2022, he became a visiting professor at the Politecnico di Milano, Department of Design, where he deepened his studies on wearable technologies in relation to Made in Italy fashion manufacturing districts. This research involved interviews with notable national and international figures in the design, production, communication, and distribution sectors of fashion.
From 2020 to 2023, he held the position of Associate Professor in product and fashion design strategy for the high-end sector at Jiangnan University in Wuxi, China. Between 2018 and 2020, he served as an Associate Professor at the School of Arts at Nanjing University, where he initiated design education programs focused on Chinese cultural heritage and contributed to the creation of digital archives for Chinese high-end craftsmanship.
From 2007 to 2018, he conducted research as a research fellow at the DIDA Department of the University of Florence, coordinating University-Industry laboratories for the development of design-driven innovations in the furniture and fashion districts. In 2013, he obtained a Ph.D. in Industrial Design, Environment, and History from the University Luigi Vanvitelli in Naples. Between 2014 and 2017, he served as the CEO of the academic spin-off Xyproject.
Academic Coordinator at IED Florence, fashion and design department, from 2014 to 2018.
