Projects for Students with Disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders (DSA)

Through the Office for the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities (USID), the University has launched two initiatives aimed at supporting students and graduates with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (DSA), promoting inclusion and facilitating their transition into university life and the world of work.

The first project targets graduates with disabilities and aims to assist them in entering the job market, in collaboration with the University’s Career Service and the Employment Centres of the Tuscany Region.
A dedicated psychologist has been appointed within the University’s Student Guidance and Support Unit to conduct personalised interviews – either in person or online – based on a semi-structured questionnaire. The project began with a survey of graduates with disabilities from the past ten years and continues with individual meetings to build tailored professional development paths, also in cooperation with the Targeted Placement Service (Collocamento Mirato) of the Pisa Employment Centre.

The second project, called Accoglienza (“Welcome”), is aimed at upper secondary school students with disabilities or DSA, helping them plan their university pathway. The initiative benefits from the experience of the USID staff and the DSA support desk. Students are invited to complete a questionnaire to identify their individual needs and study interests, which serves as a basis for organising personalised orientation meetings.
