National Agreements

The agreements provide that the University of Pisa and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna may make reciprocal use of their facilities, equipment and teaching and scientific expertise for their institutional activities in student orientation, teaching, research, and third mission initiatives. .


Under these agreements, professors, researchers, PhD students and postgraduate students from the University of Pisa may carry out institutional activities at the Scuola Normale Superiore, and vice versa, upon request by the head of the relevant teaching or research division.

The agreements aim to develop forms of collaborative partnership for:

  • research, technological development and innovation activities
  • teaching and training activities
  • the provision of services to support research activities.

The agreements regulate the presence of INFN Sections within University departments, ensuring that the advanced scientific research carried out by INFN makes a significant contribution to university activities and is coordinated with the work of the host departments.


The agreements aim to integrate specialist clinical activities with those of scientific research, technological innovation and training, within the clinical and healthcare departments, in all areas of shared interest.

The agreements govern the relationship between the University and the IRCCS Stella Maris for teaching activities, including the establishment at the IRCCS of a “Joint Integrated Platform for Research and Translational Research” (IRCCS–University). They strengthen mutual cooperation in line with the key objectives of the National Health Plan, the National Research Plan and the National Health Research Plan..

The agreements cover the promotion, development, organisation, planning, coordination and management of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Courses.

The agreements define initiatives for collaboration and service integration aimed at:

  • simplifying procedures for university students
  • providing information and communication on initiatives and measures
  • ensuring access to university and agency services
  • exchanging data and coordinating monitoring activities.

Through these agreements, the University network is made available to students housed in student residences, and certain services and benefits are also extended to staff.

The “Sistemi Logistici” University Service Centre serves as the University’s reference point for teaching, research and knowledge enhancement activities related to logistics systems and the blue economy.
The agreements provide for the promotion and support of:

  • the Bachelor’s Degree Course in Economics and Legislation of Logistics Systems, based in Livorno;
  • the Master’s Degree Course in Management and Control of Logistics Processes;
  • the establishment of educational initiatives, including Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Courses, advanced training, postgraduate, professional development and lifelong learning courses, relevant to logistics systems and the blue economy.

The agreements provide for the implementation of university sports and student activity programmes, as well as the management of university sports facilities.
