Regulated-admission degree courses – First year

Transfer to the first year of a regulated-admission degree course at the University of Pisa is only possible if the admission test has been passed and the candidate has been placed in the merit ranking.
Successful candidates must submit their transfer request through the Gepaco portal, for which FAQs and a user guide are available.

Requests must be submitted within the deadlines set out in the relevant calls for first-cycle or second-cycle degree courses.

Important: students transferring from a regulated-admission degree course lose the right to rejoin or reactivate their academic career in the same course, unless they pass a new admission test for the original course.

Validation of exams already taken

Transfers requiring validation of previous exams are subject to evaluation by the Board of the degree course of destination. The resolution confirming the validated exams must then be accepted by the student.
If there are no exams to be validated, the transfer does not require evaluation by the Board.

When the transfer becomes effective

Transfers to Bachelor’s or Single-cycle Master’s degree courses become effective on the date the request is submitted. Exams may then be taken in the new course, subject to the obligations arising from the results of the assessment test, as established by the regulations of the degree course.

What to do

First, check that your tuition fees are up to date and that you are regularly enrolled for the academic year 2024/2025.
To renew enrolment, it is sufficient to have paid the first instalment of EUR 340.00 (see payment methods) or to have applied for a DSU scholarship, if eligible.

The procedure to follow:

• Log in to the Gepaco portal
• Sign in with your Alice credentials
• Select the degree course you wish to transfer to
• From the list provided, select the exams for which you wish to request validation
• Indicate any exams you have taken which do not appear in the list. For exams divided into modules, indicate only those for which you have completed all modules, for the total number of credits obtained
• Save and keep the receipt

How to check the outcome of the transfer

On the Gepaco portal, you can check the progress of your request. At each stage, the system automatically sends a notification to your institutional e-mail address.

You will receive an e-mail once the Board of the degree course has made its decision. You must then:

• log in to the Gepaco portal to view the resolution
• accept, partially accept, or reject the resolution

If you reject it, you may:

• withdraw your transfer request

or

• request a new resolution, providing your observations; in this case the Board will review your request again.

At the end of the procedure, the Student Office will send an e-mail confirming registration of the transfer.

Student record book

Students enrolled before the academic year 2020/2021 may print a label to be affixed to their record book by logging in to the Gepaco portal.
