Bachelor’s, Master’s and Single-Cycle Master’s Degree Courses – Italian citizens

Admission to Bachelor’s and Single-Cycle Master’s Degree Courses can be either open or regulated:

• open-admission courses administer a skills assessment test, the result of which does not preclude enrolment, but may lead to additional coursework debts.
• regulated-admission courses have a limited number of places, and admission is through selection by competition. Selection procedures and available places can be found on the pages of each degree course

To register:

• access the Alice Portal, register and login
• from the menu select “Secretariat” and then “Choose a degree programme”
• upload the required documents
• pay the registration fee via the PagoPA system or at a bank, post office, authorised tobacconist’s (if you are already in Italy). If you have applied for a DSU grant, the fee to be paid will not appear.

On the Alice portal you must then upload:

• Your secondary school diploma (original or certified copy)
• The Declaration of Value (DOV) issued by the Italian diplomatic representation competent for your country

Or

• The Statement of Comparability, released by Cimea, the official Enic-Naric Centre for Italy. You can apply for certification via the DIPLOME platform reserved for students intending to enrol in a course at the University of Pisa. Create a personal account. In your profile you will find all the information on how to apply for certificates and the documentation you must submit. It will be possible to follow the status of requests and view certificates in pdf format in the “My Services” section.
  Both documents must show at least 12 years of schooling and the qualification must allow access to university in the country where it was obtained
• The receipt of the DSU grant application (if required).

Admission depends on the possession of specific academic requirements. To find out more, please visit the page on the general rules and requirements governing admission to Master’s Degree Courses, with particular reference to Article 2(2.4), and the page dedicated to the degree course.

The first step is registration on the Alice Portal. Once you have obtained your access credentials, you must log in and upload:

• A passport-sized photo
• your identity document

To proceed with registration, log on to the Admission Portal and upload:

• Foreign academic qualification (original or certified copy)
• Dichiarazione di Valore (DOV) issued by the Italian Diplomatic Representation competent for your country, accompanied by an official translation of the degree diploma in Italian, authenticated or with Apostille

or

• The Statement of Comparability, released by Cimea, the official Enic-Naric Centre for Italy. You can apply for certification via the DIPLOME platform reserved for students intending to enrol in a course at the University of Pisa. Create a personal account. In your profile you will find all the information on how to apply for certificates and the documentation you must submit. or

• Diploma Supplement
• Original certificate of examinations passed with an official translation into Italian (only if you are enrolling in a Master’s Degree Course held in Italian)
• Syllabuses (on the letterhead of the foreign university or with the stamp of the university itself) of the above examinations, with an official translation into Italian (only if you are enrolling in a degree course held in Italian)

In order to assess whether an Italian translation of the list of passed examinations and the relevant syllabuses is necessary, you can contact the president of the course you wish to enrol in. For a prior assessment of your qualifications, you can send an e-mail to the president of your chosen course of study.

After the administrative check, the Board of the degree course will evaluate your application. If the application is accepted, you will be notified of your admission via email and on Ammissionelm, with instructions on how to complete your registration.

To finalise the registration, upload the following to Alice and Ammissionelm:

• The required documents
• The payment receipt for the first instalment of fees

OR

• The receipt of the DSU grant application

Please note: Even if you received an admission letter from your course of study, you must upload it on the Ammissionelm portal in the Attachments section.

To apply for a Master’s degree programme taught in English, the first step is to carefully read the call for applications and submit your application within the specific deadlines indicated for each programme.

Once your application is accepted, you will receive an admission letter from the degree programme to be uploaded on the Ammissionelm portal in the attachements section.
