It deals with special diets for patients with chronic kidney disease, the specific nutritional principles for patients on haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, and the dietary guidelines for kidney transplant patients and for patients with kidney stones.

Furthermore, the postgraduate degree course offers knowledge and insights on oral hygiene, clinical organisation, paediatric nephrology, pregnancy, and physical activity in renal patients.

The postgraduate degree course provides knowledge that allows dietitians to interact with nephrologists with scientific awareness, for a better and more effective clinical impact on patients. It also provides the preparation and professional technique required for the training of the so-called renal dietitian, a position not yet codified in Italy but established and recognised internationally
  • nephrologists with specific professional training in the dietetic-nutritional field.
