The postgraduate degree course Trattamento intracavitario dei tumori della pleura provides scientific and practical skills in the management and treatment of primary and secondary malignant pleural pathologies, with a particular focus on the role of intracavitary chemotherapy treatments. The programme aims to equip participants with the skills necessary for a modern, multimodal and personalised approach to patients with pleural tumours.

Throughout the course, students will explore all the aspects concerning this type of surgery, from initial oncological and pneumological evaluation, to operability criteria and perioperative management.

Participants will acquire both practical skills necessary for the treatment of pleural pathologies (especially pleural mesothelioma and pleural implants of thymoma), and specific knowledge of the various possible treatments for malignant pleural pathologies, with the opportunity to learn innovative techniques such as HITHOC (hyperthermic intrathoracic chemotherapy) and PITAC (Pressurized IntraThoracic Aerosol Chemotherapy).
