The postgraduate degree course in Neuroradiologia Diagnostica provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques underlying clinical neuroradiology, enabling students to select the most appropriate diagnostic studies and protocols for each patient.
The course allows students to:
- gain familiarity with the morpho-functional characteristics of the principal brain and spinal structures
- acquire foundational knowledge of the pathology and pathophysiology of central nervous system disorders
- become familiar with traumatic and ischaemic pathologies, as well as brain and spine inflammatory and degenerative conditions
- learn the pathophysiology underlying rapidly evolving processes, particularly cerebral infarction and inflammation
- gain knowledge of the key pathological and histological features used to define and classify neoplastic lesions
- understand the key angiographic patterns associated with aneurysms and vascular malformations
- learn the indications, risks and benefits of neurointerventional procedures, including thrombolysis, embolisation, angioplasty and stenting.
Career opportunities
The course is designed to provide advanced training for doctors, particularly those specialising in radiodiagnostics or radiology, who are working in neuroradiology within Radiology Operating Units or Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology Units.
